Reiki + Cupping
Reiki and Cupping Therapy in South Burlington, VT
Reiki energy healing and cupping therapy to support relaxation, ease tension, reduce stress, and promote overall balance and well-being.
At Latitude Acupuncture & Wellness, Reiki and Cupping Therapy offer two distinct approaches to supporting relaxation and well-being. Reiki focuses on energetic balance and deep relaxation, while cupping uses gentle suction to ease physical tension and support healthy circulation.
Both Reiki and Cupping Therapy can be enjoyed as standalone sessions or incorporated into your acupuncture or massage session as same-day treatments to help you relax, reset, and recharge.

Reiki
Reiki (ray-kee) is a gentle form of energy work designed to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural ability to restore balance. At Latitude, Reiki is provided by Reiki Master Lisa Laramee, who earned her Master’s Degree in the Usui System of Reiki Healing, honoring the lineage of Usui, Hayashi, and Takata.
During treatment, Lisa uses light touch or holds her hands just above the body to encourage the flow of energy and create a deeply calming, restorative experience. This gentle, non-invasive practice can help quiet the mind, release tension, calm the nervous system, support restful sleep, and encourage a greater sense of balance and well-being.
What can I expect at my Reiki treatment?
During a session, your practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above different areas of the body while you rest comfortably on a treatment table. There’s no need to undress for Reiki. You’ll remain fully clothed throughout your session, so we recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax. You’ll simply lie back, get comfortable, and rest while Lisa guides you through the treatment.
Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some people notice sensations of warmth, tingling, or heaviness, while others simply experience a deep sense of calm and relaxation. You may even drift off to sleep—and that’s perfectly fine!
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is a traditional therapeutic technique that uses specialized cups placed on the skin to create gentle suction. This helps lift and decompress the underlying tissues, encourage circulation, and release areas of muscle tension and tightness. Cupping may help relieve soreness and stiffness, improve mobility, support muscle recovery, and promote relaxation. It can be especially helpful for areas that feel tight, overworked, or difficult to release through massage alone.
Cupping therapy at Latitude is provided by MacKenzie Coppola, who tailors each session to your specific needs and comfort level. Treatments may be done on their own or incorporated into a massage session to futher support overall movement and comfort.
What can I expect at my cupping appointment?
During your treatment, MacKenzie will place cups on targeted areas of the body based on your individual needs. The cups may remain stationary for several minutes or may be gently moved across the skin. You’ll typically feel a pulling or tight sensation where the cups are placed, but the level of suction can be adjusted for your comfort.
Because the cups need to be placed directly on the skin, the treatment area will need to be uncovered. Wear comfortable clothing that makes it easy to access the area being treated. Appropriate draping will be used throughout your session for comfort and privacy.
After cupping, you will likely notice temporary circular marks or discoloration where the cups were placed. These marks are a common response to the suction and generally fade gradually over several days. You may also experience some temporary tenderness in the treated areas.
At Latitude, cupping can be used as part of a massage or acupuncture session to provide more focused attention to areas of muscle tension and discomfort.
