What types of massage therapy do you offer at Latitude?

Whether you’re new to massage or receive treatments regularly, your session at Latitude is personalized to your body, comfort level, and goals. You don’t need to know which type of massage or technique you need before you arrive. Your therapist will talk with you about how you’re feeling, any areas of pain or tension, your preferred pressure, and what you’d like to get out of your session.

Depending on your needs, your massage may incorporate a combination of massage and bodywork techniques, including:

  • Swedish – Gentle, flowing movements designed to promote relaxation and ease everyday muscle tension.

  • Deep tissue – Slower, more focused pressure used to work deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.

  • Focused therapeutic massage – Individualized massage that concentrates on areas of discomfort, tightness, or limited mobility.

  • Trigger point therapy – Targeted pressure applied to specific areas of muscle tightness and tension.

  • Ashiatsu – A massage technique in which the therapist uses their feet to apply broad, sustained pressure.

  • Prenatal massage – Massage therapy adapted to provide comfort and support during pregnancy.

  • Cupping therapy – Specialized cups create gentle suction on the skin and may be incorporated to address areas of muscle tension.

  • Range-of-motion techniques – Gentle movements that take joints through their comfortable range of motion.

  • Passive stretching – Your therapist gently moves and stretches your body while you remain relaxed.

What should I expect during my massage?

If it’s your first massage, don’t worry—your therapist will walk you through everything before your session begins. You’ll have an opportunity to discuss any concerns, injuries, sensitive areas, or areas you’d like your therapist to focus on or avoid. Your therapist will then step out of the room while you undress to your personal comfort level and get situated under the sheet and blanket on the massage table. You will remain appropriately draped throughout your entire session, with only the area currently being worked on uncovered.

Your comfort is important throughout your massage. You can always ask for more or less pressure, request an adjustment, or let your therapist know if something doesn’t feel right. And if you prefer a quiet massage where you can simply relax, that’s perfectly fine too!

Massage sessions at Latitude are available with our licensed massage therapists, Lisa Laramee, LMT, Reiki Master, and MacKenzie Coppola, RMT. Each session is personalized to your individual needs and goals, helping you relax, release tension, and get the most from your treatment.
